Wedding Trends: What You Need to Know Now!

Natural is the New Extravagant

Besides having some serious “spring fever”, I’m sure many people are also experiencing wedding fever. As we begin the trek into the busiest season for weddings, let’s take a look at some inspiration from the new spring trends that are emerging from the spring 2017 wedding season.

A wedding is absolutely the perfect time to be over-the-top, elegant, and extravagant. However, it seems that the spring 2017 wedding season has trends that define what it means to be truly “natural”. From watercolor pastels to overflowing blooms of softly-colored flowers and greenery, the scene for these trends is all about subtle and natural elegance.

All Things Watercolor:

Watercolor tones (think washed-out pastel hues) are a great way to add in some color without an over-the-top palette that strays from the “natural” look. Whether you decide to have watercolor-based invitations, or even coordinate wedding apparel to reflect these soft hues, these colors can add a touch of personality to your big day.

 Full Blooms and Garlands:

Overflowing arrangements full of in-season spring flowers can not only add some dramatic elegance to any space, but it can also bring feelings of spring into full bloom! Additionally, using flowers that are in season during springtime can significantly reduce cost, as they are readily available and do not need to be sent in from elsewhere.

Dreamy Wedding Dresses:

3-D floral applique has been circulating the spring 2017 wedding runway. Dreamy is the keyword here, and straying from lace while heading towards tulle, floral accents, and even pastel colors is what’s in store for the daring bride-to-be.

We Are Family:

Wedding guests, whether they are family members or friends, are what makes your wedding day so meaningful. So why not incorporate some family love into your meal? Instead of offering guests a buffet or plated dinner, consider a “family style” meal. During this type of informal dinner, guests are seated at tables and then served dishes to pass around to each other, much like a traditional family dinner that takes place in the home. This way, guests that are from out-of-town, or perhaps not familiar with one another, can get to know those at the table in a comfortable setting.
